Anna M. Boarini
A Nancy Drew rising, Elizabeth Bennet Sun, and Kristy Thomas Moon, it’s no surprise Anna M. Boarini is a queer, eldest daughter. As a child, she visited Colonial Williamsburg with her American Girl Doll Felicity Merriman and didn’t understand fame until then. Like many others afflicted with the writing bug, Anna drinks too much coffee to deal with the impending doom of putting her thoughts and ideas on paper. A former newspaper reporter, Anna cut her teeth in northwest Indiana and southern Vermont, covering everything from violent crimes to the Christmas Train Elf Express. Now she has a day job for the health insurance and dreams of the day she can live by her pen. Anna graduated from Dartmouth College in 2017 with her MALS in Creative Writing, where she originally came up with the idea for her first book, On The Record. Anna lives in Boston with her cats Timmo and Minerva. A New Englander for over a decade, she’ll always be a Hoosier first.
Anna has spun yarns since she could speak and writing since she could hold a crayon. As a child, she lived in her imagination and in many ways, never left. Storytelling came naturally, but she honed her writing skills as a newspaper journalist.
Her writing inspirations include but are not limited to Tamora Pierce, Arundhiti Roy, Joan Didion, Christiane Ritter, Charles Dickons, Meg Cabot, and the OG Jane Austen.
